William Henry Krueger

William Henry Krueger, 88, of Lake Zurich, passed away on September 1, 2024, at his home in Vernon Hills. Born on April 28, 1936, in Libertyville, Illinois, to Henry and Lillian (Helmuth) Krueger, Bill spent the majority of his life in Lake Zurich. 

He married Dolores Hendrey on January 25, 1958, and together they raised two daughters, until her passing in 1995. Bill found love again with Loretta May, whom he married on April 24, 1998. Loretta passed away on January 27, 2023. 

Bill is survived by his daughters, Donna (Ken) Angellotti, and Darlene (Wayne) Grant, stepchildren Shane Stancliff (Frank), and Susan Sailor; his grandchildren, Nicole (Tim) Schaller, Joshua (Emily) Grant, and Nicole Sailor; and his great-grandchildren, Carolyn Grant, Mason Schaller, William Grant, and Chloe Schaller. He is also survived by his sisters-in-laws, Kathleen Wiese, Vicki Beinlich, Diane Martinelli, Sandra Smith; brother-in-law, Timmy May; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Annabelle Racine, Eleanor Poore, and Rita Hinkle, his brother-in-law, James May. Bill leaves behind a family that will forever cherish his memory.

Bill was a man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. Whether it was camping, cooking, or spending time with his family, he always found joy in the little things. His dedication extended beyond his family, as he was passionate about helping others and sharing his knowledge.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich. Following the service, Bill will be laid to rest at Lake Zurich Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local 4-H club, a cause close to Bill’s heart, where he enjoyed many years of showing his cows and supporting youth in agriculture. Please click here to give.
