Bill Hurley, 57, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Bill was born January 13, 1957, in Evergreen Park, to the late Arthur and Anne Josephine (nee O’Malley) Hurley. He married Carol A. Oplinger on March 3, 1990, at The Village Church of Barrington.
Bill was a Leader and very active with the youth group (Club ROCK) at The Village Church of Barrington for almost 10 years. He loved spending his spare time with his wife riding their motorcycles. Bill enjoyed working in the maintenance department at Snap-On Tools. He was also a model maker, machinist, and certified personal trainer. He was best known for his large heart and willingness to help others anywhere, anytime.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; brother, Daniel (Cheryl) Hurley; nephews, Timothy (Kerry) and Stephen; nephew and godson, Patrick Hurley; great nephew, Tadhg Hurley; mother-in-law, Nancy Oplinger; sister-in-law, Linda Ayala; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The visitation will be from 3-9 p.m., Thursday, June 5, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. There will also be a visitation Friday, June 6, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m., at The Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name may be made to The Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main St., Barrington, IL 60010, to be designated for the Bill Hurley Club ROCK Scholarship Fund.
