William Iverson

William K. Iverson,79, of Lake Zurich, passed away, Tuesday, June 5,2012, at the Lexington House in Lake Zurich.

 He was born September 29,1932, to Edward and Lydia (nee Spiegl) Iverson, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After graduating in 1950 from Ela-Vernon High School, where he was active in football, he enlisted in the US Army for 3 years. He served honorably in the 32nd infantry regiment of the 77the infantry division, on the Korean Battle front, rising to the ranks of Sgt. first class. He received the Parachutist badge, Combat Infantrymen badge, and the Korean Service ribbon.

He was a long term employee of Ronn and Sons Concrete Construction Inc., in May 2008 he was the proud recipient from local union 502 of honors for 50 years of continuous service.

Bill is survived by his son, Edward of Hammond IN, daughter, Heidi (Garry) Augustine; grandchildren, Nicole, Christina, and Brianna, of Sarasota Florida; sisters, Edith Iverson of Pleasant Prairrie, WI, Ruth Cunningham of Kenosha, WI, and Beverly (Ronald) Lampe, of Monona, WI; sisters- in-law, Connie Iverson of Lakewood, Washington, and Jan Iverson, of Capron IL; aunt, Eleanor Spiegl of Antigol WI, former wife Joan Donahoe, of Sarasota Florida, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his son Gunnar Iverson, and his brothers Colonel Iverson, and Dr. Gordon Iverson.

Burial will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
