William L. Lieberman

William L. Lieberman, 94, of Barrington formerly of Wilmette, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2019.  He was born September 27, 1925 in Chicago to Leo and Celeste (nee Cronkhite) Lieberman.

Bill was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army in France.  Upon his honorable discharge, he obtained his MBA from the University of Chicago under the GI Bill.  His career as a quality control consultant spanned 40 plus years, the last 20 being with Abbott Laboratories.  He was an honored member of the American Society for Quality Control, receiving many awards over the years.

In 1952 Bill married Kathryn P. McMahan. She preceded him in death in 1992.

He is survived by his son, Guy (Kathy) Lieberman of Arlington Heights; grandchildren, Louis (Danni) and Michael (Kelly); and five beautiful great granddaughters.

He was a generous and gentle man with a dry sense of humor that people seemed to be drawn to. Bill spent the later years of his life happily at the Garlands in Barrington.

Per Bill’s wishes, his services will be held privately. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Kathryn, at Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago.
