William L. McCannon

William L. McCannon, age 85, of Crystal Lake, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at JourneyCare in Woodstock. He was born October 10, 1931 in Chicago to Loyd and Pearl (Allen) McCannon.

He was an avid ballplayer and bowler in his younger years, playing on many Woodstock and Farm Bureau leagues. He took up golf later in life and enjoyed many rounds with his family and friends. He retired from Knaack in Crystal Lake. He enjoyed the area senior clubs with his wife, Elaine, until her death in 2007.

He will be greatly missed by his son, Mick (Sue) McCannon of Cape Coral, FL; his daughter, Judy Hahn, of Crystal Lake; a grandson, Coire (Anna) McCannon; three granddaughters, Deidre McCannon, Jaime (Gerardo) Gudino, and Michelle (Zach) Walters; four great-grandchildren, A.J., Alyce, Isabella, and Brandon; a sister, Betty Thiede; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his parents; a brother, Bert; and a sister, Vivian.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
