William (Bill) Kenton Montague passed away at 6:22 pm on June 20, 2021 due to complications resulting from lung cancer.
Bill was the second of five children born to Robert and Bobbie Montague. Growing up Bill participated in the Boy Scouts, played guitar in a number of bands and graduated, in 1969, from DeRidder High School in DeRidder, Louisiana. He went on to attend McNeese State and Louisiana Tech universities.
Following high school Bill joined the US Marine Corps, attending basic training in Parris Island, South Carolina and later graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps Computer Science School in Quantico, Virginia (2nd in his class). He was subsequently stationed in the Washington D.C. area. After serving his country Bill entered the private sector and worked for 30 years as an IT specialist for a number of well-known companies. In the 1984 Bill married Lori Anne Mills. The couple settled down in Crystal Lake, Illinois where Bill and Lori eventually retired.
Bill was a very kind person. He liked to help people and teach them things he knew about. He also had a big heart. He and Lori rescued 11 shelties from the Central Illinois Sheltie Rescue Shelter and were a large part of their lives. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing. His friendliness, kindness, and helpfulness will be missed by those who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife Lori, two brothers Robert and Patrick and a sister Kathy.
