William J. “Bill” Geleske of Barrington passed away peacefully April 11, 2022. He was born May 29, 1935 in Michigan City, IN to Harvey and Dolores Geleske.
William is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Carol Lange; children, Dr. Timothy (Margarita) Geleske of Barrington, IL. and Rev. Philip (Anna) Geleske of Brenham, TX; grandchildren, Caleb (Alexandra) Geleske of Converse, TX, Molly (Erick) Simien of Grapevine, TX, Matthew Geleske of Washington, D.C., Andrew Geleske of Boulder, CO, and Christopher Geleske of Barrington, IL; great grandchildren, Gabriel and Mia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Barrone, and his parents.
William was a graduate of Elston High School. He retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Bill was a quiet man who enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to “putter” and do woodworking. Upon retirement, he took great pleasure in volunteering with Mission Builders, A ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which builds churches and camps throughout the United States.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until the funeral service at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Lutheran Church of Atonement in Barrington with Rev. William Waxenberg, officiating. Committal will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City, IN with Rev. Philip Geleske officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
