William “Bill” R. Thurow, Jr., 53, of Algonquin passed away suddenly on May 25, 2022. He was born in Louisville, KY on October 30, 1968, to William and Pamela (nee French) Thurow.
A graduate of Cary Grove High School class of 1986, Bill went on to receive a BA degree from Northern Illinois University in 1990. He was a software engineer at CDK Global in Hoffman Estates.
Bill was kind, giving and loved kidding around. Always ready for a laugh, he was very family orientated and loved playing cards and board games with family and friends. An animal lover at heart, Bill especially loved to spoil his two cats, Loki and Pandora. He had a great memory and recited lines from many movies with John Wayne being a huge favorite. Bill was an avid reader and history buff who very much enjoyed traveling to historic sites and visiting Las Vegas.
Bill is survived by his parents, Bill and Pam; brother, Matt; his nephew, Matthew; and his Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio cousins.
He was preceded in death by his two aunts, Marilyn and Barbara and two uncles, Jim and Herb.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, from 4pm until 7pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
A funeral service will be Thursday, June 2, at 10:30am with a visitation to begin at 9:30am at the funeral home.
