Betty O'Leary

Elizabeth “Betty” O’Leary, 89 of Barrington, was born on February 22, 1932 and passed away on April 20, 2021. Betty was the dear mother of Jeanne (Pravin) Gupta, Judy (Bernie) Caporale and Steve (fiancée, Marymae Lorenzo) O’Leary; cherished grandmother of Julia (Sumit) Jain, Kelly Gupta, Nick Caporale and Chris Caporale; and beloved sister of Kathleen (Kenny) Ring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas O’Leary; and brother, Edward (Viola) Daley.

Betty was active in bowling leagues and a bridge group. She loved to play cards with friends and enjoyed gardening. She was an active volunteer with her children’s scouting, swim team, and other sports. She also volunteered at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Betty worked at JC Penney for many years where she made several close friendships. Betty was also a member of Saint Anne Catholic Community in Barrington.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington, IL. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
