Claire K. (Vaughn) Gallagher

Claire Katheryn Gallagher, 99, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2018. She was born on July 24, 1919 in Madison, WI to Frank and Marie (nee Genz) Vaughn.

Claire loved playing Bridge and teaching others to play. She enjoyed traveling around the world, often on Bridge-playing cruises.

Claire was married for many years to the late John Gallagher, and will be joyfully remembered by her loving children, Gregory Vaughn Gallagher of Scottsdale, AZ and Susan Gallagher Borg of Bristol Mills, ME; grandchildren, Kelley (Eric) Duffy of Bremen, ME; great-grandchildren, Helen Marie and Fiona Claire Duffy.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael John Gallagher, her sisters Jean Axley and Betty Anne Varney and by her parents.

Memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich. Interment will be private.
