Dee Meyer

Deanna (Dee) Meyer, mother of Jerry (Cathy) Meyer and Jill (Robert) Margala, grandmother of Andy (Katherine) Meyer and life partner of Richard Kraft passed on February 8, 2021.

Dee was raised in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, attended Lake Geneva High School (Class of 1954) where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Carl Meyer on June 14, 1958. After attending Racine Kenosha Teachers College and University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, Dee taught in a one room country school in Walworth County.

Following her marriage to Carl Meyer, they lived in California, Texas, Maryland and Hawaii before settling in Crystal Lake, IL in 1972. Dee spent over 30 years in the real estate industry on a local and national level.

Carl Meyer passed away in 1997. Richard Kraft entered her life in 2004. They enjoyed extensive travel mostly on the North American continent.

Dee enjoyed her membership in the First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, especially her Fellowship Circle. She remained an active member of the PEO Sisterhood in Chapters JH and IA in Crystal Lake, a previous member and president of the Rotary Club of Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers, and many other civic and social organizations. She enjoyed reading with membership in several book clubs, quilting, knitting and travel.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Meyer, her granddaughter, Danielle Marie Meyer, and her brother, Sam Sipsma.

Memorial service will be at 11am, Saturday October 2 at the First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, 461 Pierson St, Crystal Lake.

Donations may be given to the First Congregational Church or Rotary International.
