Donald J. Lewis

Donald J. Lewis, 68, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.  He was born in Chicago on January 13, 1953, to Donald E. and Evelyn (nee Darling) Lewis.

He was a graduate and proud member of “The Wild Bunch” of Prospect High School class of 1971. Don went on to graduate from UW Whitewater, then came home and worked for the family business, L & V Distributors (Old Style) in Crystal Lake for over 40 years.

He loved golf and would play as much as possible. He also enjoyed having a good time and lived life to the fullest.

Survivors include his brother, Daniel (Mary) Lewis; sister-in-law, Sally (Keith) Peterson, stepbrothers, Vern (the late Debbie) and Scott (Ann) Seaquist; stepsister, Sheryl Seaquist; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Lewis (nee Darling), Donald Lewis and stepmother, Elsie Lewis (nee Seaquist), and his younger brother, David Lewis.

Visitation and service will be held on Sunday, August 15th, from 1pm until the time of a service at 4pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

The family would prefer visitors to wear a mask while indoors.

All are invited the following day, Monday, August 16 , to 1776 Restaurant, 397 W Virginia St. (NW HWY 14), Crystal Lake, for a Celebration of Life Happy Hour from 4-5pm. In honor of Don, please wear your favorite golf shirt or Chicago sportswear!
