Helen B. (Berghorn) Lohman

Helen B. Lohman, 97, a lifelong resident of Barrington passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at JourneyCare in Barrington.  She was born in Barrington on October 17, 1923 to Wilbur and Ruth (nee Peterson) Berghorn.

On November 27, 1946, Helen married Floyd Lohman at Salem United Methodist Church in Barrington.  He preceded her in death in 1979.

A loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Helen will be deeply missed by her children, Ronald (Pamela) Lohman and Joyce (the late Donald) Franzese; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Sexton, Michelle (Don) Harrison, Danielle (Christian) Anderson, Jason (Alena), Jonathan (Katie), and Justin (Lauren) Lohman, and Haley Laliberte; great grandchildren, Austin, William and Bennett Lohman, Connor, Logan and Merryn Sexton, and Ian and Lyla Harrison; and her nieces and nephews, Susan Babb, James, Kenneth and Sharon Berghorn and their families.

Besides her parents and husband, Helen was also preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lohman; sister, Marie (Lloyd) Lohman; and brother, Willard (Elaine) Berghorn.

Helen was very proud to be a Charter Member of the American Legion Auxillary #964 of Lake Zurich and enjoyed being a member of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class at Salem United Methodist Church.   She loved watching the Cubs play and never missed a Wheel of Fortune, but above all, her pride and joy was being a Grandma and GG.

Please join the family in one last good bye on Tuesday, July 27th, from 9 am until the time of a funeral service at 10:30 am at Salem United Methodist Church, 115 W. Lincoln Ave., Barrington.   Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
