Jack Lee Ahr, 86, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 23, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Pearl (nee Wolfson) Ahr.
Jack was an artist and the designer of the Bicentennial Quarter. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War era.
Jack will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Harriet (nee Wachter); children, Alan (Joan) Ahr, Gary (Sara) Ahr, Tracy (Joan) Ahr, Leslie Ahr and Lynda (Marc) Shellist; grandchildren, Ari, Jacob and Sam Shellist, Jon Anundson, and Michelle (Paul) Sayas; and great grandchild, Cade Sayas.
Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 10 AM until the 12 Noon Celebration of Life service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
