John T. Cummings

John T. Cummings, of Huntley, formerly of Bartlett and Crystal Lake, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his home in Huntley. He was born June 28, 1938 in Chicago to Chester and Mary (nee Taylor) Cummings.

John was a graduate of Forman High School and attended Carthage College. He worked at L&V Distributors in Crystal Lake until his retirement. After retirement, John owned and operated his own limousine service. He was known in the community as a warm and friendly guy, always ready with a smile and a joke. John took pride in his family; he was a proud father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

He survived by his wife, Karolyn “Kay” (nee Klemeyer) Cummings; his children, Becky (Kyle) McCaughn and Joe (Heather) Cummings; his grandchildren, Caleb and Morgan McCaughn; his sister, Deborah Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3pm-9pm, Friday, August 11, 2017 with a memorial service at 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
