Laura A. Mortimer

Laura A. Mortimer, 67, of Crystal Lake, was born October 3, 1954 in Woodstock, IL to Melvin and Ruth (nee Seeboth) Erckfritz. She passed away peacefully on October 17, 2021.

Laura retired as medical transcription clerk in 1996, after a battle with ovarian cancer. Laura greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews and their children, which brought her great joy.

Laura is survived by her mother, Ruth Erckfritz; stepchildren, Chrissy (Andy) Harris and Shawn (Loria) Mortimer, L.D. (Wendy) Jackson, and Larry (Donna) Jackson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings, Dan (Heather) Erckfritz, Kathy (Bernie) Duddleston and Joanne (Steve) Heck; and many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, Ron Mortimer in 2016; her father, her nephew, Christopher Erckfritz, and by her 2 fur babies, Drambuie and Ouzo.

The family will receive guests from 5 pm until time of funeral service at 8 pm, Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., (Rt 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment private.

Laura loved flowers, but you may also consider the needs of the family at this difficult time.
