Maria De Jesus Valdez

Maria Valdez, 69, of Woodstock passed away on February 17, 2023. She was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on October 19, 1953 to Candelario Figueroa and Gregoria Bautista.

Maria was a woman of devout faith who enjoyed reading her Bible on a daily basis. Aside from spending time with her loved ones, Maria is known for her kindness, honesty, caring heart, and ability to light up a room with her laughter. Maria led by example and instilled in her family what it means to be a faithful, hardworking, strong, humble and responsible individual.

Maria is survived by her children, Claudia, Robert, Vanessa and Victor along with many grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Norma; and brother, Sergio.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, from 2pm until 6pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.    Mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, February 27, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave, Woodstock.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
