Raymond G. Greene, Jr, 62, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 12, 1959 to Raymond and Vivian Greene.
Chicago born and raised, Raymond loved all Chicago sports teams (except the White Sox, he was a Cubs Fan through and through) and enjoyed watching whatever game he could. When he wasn’t catching up on his games, he was tinkering with his computer, playing video games with his family, or getting lost in a sci-fi series. He had an unwavering love for his partner in crime, his better half, his wife. He loved his children blindly and adored his grandchildren, the lights of his life. His sense of humor could brighten up the darkest situations. He always shared his opinion no matter how unpopular it was, his honesty and heart will truly be missed.
Along with his parents, Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Ethel (nee Peterson) Greene; devoted children, William (Heather) Greene and Melissa (Andrew) Cohn; cherished grandchildren, Corbin, Rebecca and Amelia Greene and Natalie and Thomas Cohn; dear siblings, Diane (Brian) Steinke, Russell Greene, and Christopher (Zoe) Sikorski; and loyal nephews, Adam and Ryan Slown.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Slown; brother-in-law, Mark Slown, Sr.; and Nephew, Mark Slown, Jr.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ethel to help cover any final expenses Raymond may have had.
